It's Showtime!!

Northwest Flower & Garden Show

It is the biggest garden show in the Great Northwest!

We have a booth in the plant section, on the main aisle, #2227. Lots of new ideas to share and demos throughout the week. (I'll try to post a schedule before the show.)

~ AND ~

We are on the skybridge again with our latest, innovative display. It's becoming a tradition!! Please vote for us if you come - it's a competition and we are always up against the big nurseries and garden centers and their unlimited resources! It would be fun to win against the 'big dogs'!!

A special place

Here are a handy couple of post-holiday links that may come in, well, handy!

Bring your miniature garden inside for a special center piece.

Mini "holiday" trees from the big-box-stores
can be kept alive ~ with attention and proper care.

What is a "dwarf" tree? The term "dwarf" demystified!

An Update on our Online Store
Update:

I have fixed a number of things in our not-so-new online store. (It's been a year already!) Who knew it would need that much tweaking? A heartfelt thanks to the people who alerted me to the trouble that they were having.

I test all the pages through various browsers on my machine, but I'm not able to test every situation. Different computers with different browsers can give different results. So I'm not able to know of the problems you may be having. Do let me know if you have the time, I would greatly appreciate it!

I have also "tweaked" the shipping and have made adjustments (& amends!) for the miscalculations. If the shipping looks like its too high, it probably is! You can email me (send your item list and your zip/postal code) and I can let you know if it is - or process your order through our office (we take Visa, M/C, Amex, personal check or Paypal)

As my twin brother says to his (life-size) garden clients: I can guarantee you three things: that I will make a mistake eventually, that I will fix it, and that it won't happen again.

It's Showtime, Baby!!  ~  Get Staked?  ~

Hello My Fellow M.G.s,Miniature flower

Well, well, well!  I hope this finds all of you well and good!

What a crazy, past couple of months, eh? This was supposed to be a holiday newsletter, but Santa gave us an early present of a flooded office and workshop last month. It wasn't pretty while it was happening (where do you put things to dry, if everything is wet?) but, as usual, there is an upside to everything and we now have a brand new workshop/studio to work in! Thanks, Santa! (Er, wait, at least I think so....????)

Anyway, let's get to it - there is great news!!

We have finally got the kits together and yes, the Mini Patio Mix kit is now available for all that asked for it! [Insert much rejoicing here.] You can make the patios and pathways that you see throughout our website. It works with all kinds of materials: brick, stone, tile and more! ~ AND IT DOESN'T WASH AWAY ! ~

I have a couple of miniature gardening kits together too - with more on the way. These kits are great in serveral different ways: - you can save a few bucks by buying you miniature garden accessories this way - they make a great start in getting into the hobby, if you haven't made a mini garden already - and, they make a great gift too! Share the idea of creating your own world and save at the same time!

New Products in the store! New custom work and one-of-a-kind work from our studios, Buddha figures, terracotta from New Mexico (pots and bird feeders/houses) and some fresh, new Miniature ponds too! I have more coming ~ I find we that we are stocking in small quantities so our inventory will change more often than our newsletters. This keeps it interesting and fresh for all of us ~ so keep checking out your favorite departments! Plants are due when the weather warms up...

Read on, there's more! Until next time, keep on growing your own world.

Best to all,
Janit

Winter Garden To Dos (if you haven't already!):

Snow garden

1. Clean out the dead leaves or needles from your conifers.
See our fall newsletter for more info.

2. In temperate climates: pull those winter weeds when you see them.
Don't let them go to seed and make more work for you in spring.

3. In colder climates: leave the snow on your miniature garden for
insulation even if it is in a container.

4. All outdoor pots should have at least one drainage hole, the roots will
rot if left sitting in water - water plants excluded, of course.

5. Check your pots under your eaves and on your covered porches
and decks to make sure they are getting the water they need.

6. Dream and scheme about your next miniature garden project. Try one of our new kits for something different. (Makes a great gift too!) - Go to our online store now.

To stake or not to stake?

Huh?

Here at Two Green Thumbs Miniature Garden Center, we stake whatever miniature garden accessory that we can, to keep its place in the garden soil. This just makes it easier to enjoy your miniature garden, because your not always fussing with the accessories to keep them upright when squirrel, kitty, or the wind goes breezing by.

However,

We know there are people out there that do doll house gardens and don't need it. So, please let us know if you would like to receive your accessories without the stake. It will tell you in the item description whether it is or not.

Use the comment box on the checkout page, K?
